Thread Count

Thread count is a measure of how many horizontal threads (weft) and vertical threads (warp) are woven into one square inch of fabric.  The higher the thread count, the higher the quality of the fabric.

Percale

Percale is a closely woven plain weave.  A sheet is considered to have a percale weave when the thread count is 200 or higher.  A percale weave is considerably tighter when compared to standard weaves.
