Based On The Art:
Tiffany Studios (1902-1932)
Good Shepherd with Landscape (panel) ca. 1909
Gift of Dr. Egon Newstadt, New-York Historical Society

Leaded glass windows were among Louis C. Tiffany’s (American 1848-1933) most significant works. This beautiful Modgy apron is inspired by one of the five panels which originally comprised “Good Shepherd with Landscape,” designed by Frederick Wilson (American 1858-1932). Two of the panels are in the collection of the New-York Historical Society and reflect quiet moments in nature. The panel adapted here captures the misty blue hues of a lakeside morning as purple irises strive for the first rays of sunlight.
